Keep the travel path under the base clear — nothing stored where the frame lowers.
Give legs and bracket hardware a snug-check after the first month, then twice a year.
Top it with a flexible, adjustable-friendly mattress (memory foam or pocket coil).

Dead base? Check the cord seating and the outlet first — wall socket, not a power bar.
Replace the remote batteries — the most common fix there is.
Power-cycle: unplug 30 seconds, replug. The control box resets and most quirks clear.
