What Moves & What Powers It

The whole-surface lift
The deck rises 12″ as one piece and comes back down the same way: the height of the sleeping surface changes without its shape changing.
The two hinged ends
Head and foot sections are driven separately across the full range, flat through upright, and they work at whatever height the lift has been left at.
Tilt on a second axis
Trendelenburg and reverse-Trendelenburg tip the deck as one plane, head-end down or foot-end down, rather than bending it at a hinge.
Steel underneath, fabric on top
A steel structure under a non-skid fabric top — the fabric keeps the mattress square to the deck while it bends and while it climbs. Spot clean only.
Legs, power and setup
The leg height is chosen once, at assembly. An emergency battery backup rides on the base, so the deck can still be brought down when household power is out, and the two-piece build joins with the hardware supplied.

The Hi-Low pairs head-and-foot adjustment with full vertical height travel, so correct installation matters more than on any other base we sell — and it carries the deepest documentation set in the line. Every guide is below. (We also have step-by-step assembly and function videos — ask and we will send them.)
Spot clean fabric surfaces only — damp cloth, mild soap.
The vertical travel path must stay completely clear — never store anything under a Hi-Low.
Check lift-kit fasteners, legs and guard-rail hardware for snugness after the first month, then twice a year.
Use a flexible, adjustable-rated mattress (memory foam or pocket coil).
Troubleshooting basics
No movement: reseat the power cord at the base, confirm the outlet is live, and bypass any power bar while testing.
Fresh remote batteries first — most control complaints end there.
Unplug 30 seconds, replug — resets the control box.
Height travel behaving oddly? Stop using the lift and email support@nationalmattress.ca with your order number — we will walk it through with you.
Warranty
The Hi-Low is covered by a 10-year manufacturer warranty. Email support@nationalmattress.ca with your order number and photos or a short video to open a claim — we handle the manufacturer side for you.
