Which mattresses are compatible with an adjustable base?
Memory foam and hybrid mattresses are the most compatible, because they bend smoothly with the base without damage. All-foam beds flex easily, and hybrids with pocketed coils also work since each coil moves on its own. Avoid traditional one-piece innerspring mattresses with rigid connected coils, which can crease or break when bent. As a rule, look for a flexible mattress 14 inches thick or less, and confirm the maker lists it as adjustable-base friendly.
