CertiPUR-US applies to polyurethane foam and verifies that the foam is made without certain harmful substances, including specific flame retardants and heavy metals, and meets low VOC emission limits for indoor air quality. It is a foam-content and emissions standard, not an organic certification. Seeing it on a foam mattress signals safer, lower-emission foam, but it does not by itself mean the mattress is made from organic or natural materials.
