Does this mattress need a box spring?
No box spring is required. This tight top needs only a firm, even surface beneath it, so a platform bed, an adjustable base, or slats spaced under 3 inches apart all work. A traditional box spring is fine if your frame is built for one. What matters is uniform support under the 800-coil system; wide slat gaps or a sagging base let the coils flex unevenly and can shorten the bed's life.
