Does this mattress feel too hard at first?

It can feel very firm out of the box and softens into its intended feel over the first few weeks. Owners commonly report it arriving harder than the showroom sample, then breaking in to the right firmness within about a month as the comfort foam settles. Give it three to four weeks of nightly sleep before judging. The thin firm comfort layer is what makes the break-in noticeable; the underlying coil support does not change.
