How often should I replace my mattress?

Most mattresses last 7 to 10 years. Replace yours sooner if you see visible sagging or body impressions deeper than about 1.5 inches, if you wake up stiff or sore more often, or if you consistently sleep better in a hotel bed than at home. Foam and hybrids typically hold up 7 to 10 years, while innerspring coils tend to soften sooner.
