Serta Simmons Bedding Now Offering Relief Beds - National Mattress COVID-19 Update

Since the COVID-10 outbreak, the nation continues to face challenges when trying to supply those in need. Companies have been working around the clock in order to provide masks and ventilators to the public, along with a rising challenge regarding a shortage of beds in both hospitals and care centers.

Thanks to Serta Bedding, one of the nation’s largest bedding manufacturer, over 10,000 mattresses have been donated to New York City hospitals and other medical facilities in response to COVID-19. Serta Simmons is now offering the same support to all of North America by partnering with Relief Bed International, a non-profit organization that helps supply beds to those in need.

With Serta’s ability to manufacture 20 thousand beds per day and a budget donation valued at $2 million, the company is now supplying these relief mattresses through local businesses, as well as supply chains to help those in need of bedding within hospitals and care centers.

National Mattress: Our Role In The Bedding Relief Program

Thanks to our existing relationship with Serta Simmons, National Mattress now has access to this supply of relief mattresses and is now making them available to any organization that needs bedding in response to the outbreak.

Each relief bed provided will be anti-microbial, easy to clean, and moisture resistant. A single bed will measure 6’’(H) x 36’’(W) x 80’’(’L) and will have a foam core to ensure comfort and durability.

National Mattress has already started the process of donating 100 beds to charities in the Toronto area. For anyone who wants to help support charities or related organizations, the average lead time is 3 weeks in Eastern Canada and 4 weeks in Western Canada. Both Serta and National Mattress are working hard and efficiently in order to supply these mattresses on time.
