How Reliable Are Serta Mattresses?

If you have been in the market for a new mattress, you have probably heard of Serta mattresses. Like most people, you’re doing some research before committing to a purchase. You may have heard about Serta’s high ratings and wondered — are Serta mattresses any good?

Serta is one of the top-selling mattress brands for a reason, but that doesn’t mean every mattress is right for every sleeper. Here’s everything you need to know to decide if a Serta mattress is the right choice for you.

How Much Do Serta Mattresses Cost?

Serta mattresses vary widely in price — you may even find them at different prices depending on where you buy them. You can find basic models as low as $300. Meanwhile, larger mattresses with more features may run up to $2,300.

Serta offers basic models that you can customize with extra layers of memory foam and other features. This will drastically affect the price, as will size differences.

For example, the Serta Perfect Sleeper model in a twin starts at $899. This includes a single layer of memory foam. However, the same model in a king-size with three layers of memory foam and a pillow top comes in at $2,299.

There is a wide range of prices, which means that you are almost guaranteed to find one that is in your price range. If your budget is a bit larger, you may be able to make special customizations for your sleeping needs.

Where Are Serta Mattresses Made?

Serta Simmons Bedding is headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., in the United States. From there, the corporation operates 42 manufacturing plants. These are located across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

When you buy a Serta mattress, you know that it was manufactured and assembled nearby, not in a factory halfway across the world.

Which Serta Mattress Is Best For Stomach Sleepers?

If you sleep on your stomach, you will need to make sure your mattress can support you in that position. Stomach sleepers need extra support for their torso and neck. This avoids letting their spine bend, causing discomfort and even long-term health issues.

Serta manufactures many top-quality mattresses. But there are a few that are specially designed for stomach sleepers. Here are a few of the top choices.

Serta iComfort Cooling Mattress — This mattress offers a firm surface designed to help stomach sleepers keep their spine aligned and support their neck, torso, and hips evenly. This reduces the chance of lower back pain while improving the quality of sleep.

The mattress uses carbon fiber cooling technology to help circulate air throughout the bed. This means that you will stay cool even on the warmest nights — or even if you tend to run very warm in your sleep. It has a one-two punch of carbon fiber memory foam and EverCool Fuze gel foam to provide comfort, support, and temperature regulation.

Serta iComfort Foam CF2000 Firm — This mattress is made to support stomach sleepers while keeping air circulating with special memory foam technology. Its internal Gel Active Max Memory Foam is designed to improve airflow around your body as you rest.

With an ultra-firm, reinforced mattress that uses two types of memory foam, the Serta iComfort CF2000 gently aligns your spine when you are sleeping on your stomach. This ensures that you will sleep comfortably without risking damage to your back, hips, or neck.

Are Serta Mattresses Toxic?

Serta mattresses are made with eco-friendly, non-toxic materials to ensure your sleep environment is safe and healthy. Here is a simple breakdown of the various components used in Serta mattresses and mattress products and how they are made:

  • Metal components: All metal components, such as innerspring and box springs, are assembled with post-industrial recycled steel.
  • Wood: Serta uses wood for mattress foundations. This is taken from sustainable forests as classified by the Forest Stewardship Council
  • Fabric: Serta uses cover fabrics made from bamboo and clean natural cotton. It also uses latex that blends natural and synthetic components. Many of the textiles used conform to the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for toxin-free manufacturing. Latex blends used in Serta mattresses are antimicrobial and made to fight allergen accumulation
  • Foam: Serta uses foam inserts that are manufactured without toxic chemicals, such as flame retardants, lead, mercury, CFCs, and phthalates. Any fireproof barriers are made of natural cotton or other fibers.
  • Other components: Serta seeks to use renewable, recycled, and non-toxic materials wherever possible.

How Long Does a Serta Mattress Last?

The lifespan of your mattress will depend on many factors. One of the main ones, of course, is quality.

Serta mattresses are high-quality and made with materials that are designed to last. However, you can increase or decrease the amount of time you will have your mattress based on several factors.

Turning your mattress regularly (depending on the model) and placing it on a supportive base can increase its lifespan. Meanwhile, treating a mattress roughly (such as jumping on it) can cause it to wear out more quickly. The weight and number of users can also affect how long a mattress lasts.

In general, however, you can expect a high-quality mattress like a Serta model — with the proper treatment and care — to last between 10 and 15 years.

Do Serta Mattresses Come With a Warranty?

All Serta mattresses come with a limited warranty. This ranges from one to 20 years depending on the model. This warranty covers mattress defects and manufacturer damage, though not any damage caused by the consumer.

If you notice a defect in your mattress and file a warranty claim, Serta will determine whether you are eligible for a replacement. If one is not available because it has been discontinued, you will receive a comparable model as a replacement.

In addition to the warranty, all Serta mattresses come with a 120-night sleep trial. This lets you return your mattress without penalty within four months of purchase. However, the company does ask that buyers test their mattresses for at least 30 nights to break the materials into their specific sleep needs.
