Queen King Split Head Queen Split Head Memory Foam Back Sleeper Serta® Mattresses and Accessories
Memory foam mattresses contour to your body, relieving pressure at the hips and shoulders while absorbing motion so you won't feel your partner move. They give a cradling, "hug" feel that suits side sleepers and couples. Browse every memory foam option below by brand, feel, and profile.
If you sleep on your back, your mattress needs to support the natural curve of your spine — firm enough that your hips don't sink, with just enough give to fill the gap at your lower back. That's why back sleepers do best on our medium and medium-firm mattresses, which balance support and contouring across foam, hybrid, euro-top and tight-top builds. We carry hundreds of back-sleeper-friendly models from every brand — Sealy, Serta, Beautyrest, Tempur-Pedic, iComfort, Stearns & Foster, Chirofoam and our own NM line — from about $59 to premium. Every mattress includes a 365-night sleep trial and free delivery across Canada. • Why it matters: back sleeping needs support that keeps the spine neutral and fills the lumbar curve • Best feel for back sleepers: medium to medium-firm (support without sinking) • Works across builds: foam, hybrid, euro-top and tight-top • Hundreds of options across every brand, from about $59 to premium • Prefer firmer support, or sleep with back pain? See our firm mattresses • Every order: 365-night sleep trial, price-match guarantee & free Canada-wide delivery

How to Choose the Right Serta Mattress
Serta® names its coil systems for how the support layer is organised, which makes the name the most useful thing on the label. Where a name says zoned, the coil unit is divided along its length into sections set to different resistances, so the middle of the bed can hold your hips up while the head and foot sections stay softer under shoulders and calves. The 1000 and 950 Series 3-Zoned Coil System and the 1050 3-Zoned Coil System split the surface three ways, while the 1250 and 2550 Series 5 ZoneActive Pocket Coil System divides it into five, giving shorter, more gradual steps between firm and soft. Serta also builds on the 800, 825 and 850 Edition Custom Support® Coil Systems.
Two other pieces of engineering matter when comparing models. Best Edge® Foam Encasement is a rigid foam frame built around the coil unit, and Serta specifies it model by model rather than as part of any one coil system, so check the model you are looking at. It stops the perimeter collapsing when you sit on it and makes the outer few inches usable for sleeping rather than a slope you roll away from. In the comfort layers, gel memory foam has a gel component mixed through the foam, which raises the thermal mass so the surface takes longer to reach body temperature; airflow, an open cell structure and the cover do the sustained work. Moulded memory foam is poured into a shaped mould so its contours are formed rather than cut. You can also explore the Serta iComfort collection. Comfort choices run across Extra Firm, Firm, Medium and Plush.
Three Zones or Five
A zone count tells you how finely support changes from head to foot: five sections step in smaller increments than three. Which one reads better is personal, so lie on both. Our zoned support guide goes deeper.
Reinforced Perimeter
Best Edge® Foam Encasement frames the coils in rigid foam so the edge holds firm, and Serta specifies it model by model. That widens the area you can actually sleep on and steadies the mattress when you sit down. See our edge support selection.
Gel and Warm-Up Time
Memory foam holds warmth because it wraps closely around you. A gel infusion raises the thermal mass of the foam, so the surface takes longer to reach body temperature; sustained cooling comes from airflow, an open cell structure and the cover.
Firmness Choices
Choose from Extra Firm, Firm, Medium and Plush, and remember that a thicker comfort layer can make two beds with the same coil system feel different.
