How to Choose the Right Beautyrest Mattress

Beautyrest® innerspring collections are built on individually pocketed coils: every spring sits in its own fabric pocket and compresses on its own instead of pulling its neighbours down with it. Two things follow from that. The support layer follows your spine in small increments rather than flexing as one sheet, and far less of a partner’s movement reaches your side of the bed, so someone turning over is much less likely to wake you. Beautyrest coil systems include 815 Original Beautyrest Pocketed Coil® Technology, 875 Pocketed Coil Technology, 1000 Pocketed Coil Technology, and 1850 and 2850 Triple-Stranded Pocketed Coil and Micro Coil Technology.

Two further pieces of construction separate the collections. Triple-Stranded coils are wound from more than one strand of wire, and because the strands run the full length of the wire they are all working from the first millimetre of compression; Beautyrest presents the construction as a support and durability feature rather than a second stage of give. The 1850 and 2850 systems also add micro coils, a layer of small springs set above the main unit that answers shoulders and hips faster than foam can. The springs are heat-tempered drawn spring steel, and the comfort layers use moulded memory foam, poured into a shaped mould rather than cut flat from a block. Firmness is offered in Extra Firm, Firm, Medium and Plush.
