Which Mattresses Are Suitable For An Adjustable Bed?
If you are planning to invest in an adjustable bed, then knowing which mattresses will work best also needs to be known. The good thing is that consumers have many mattress types to choose from. All you have to do is decide on which mattress to get based on your wants, needs, and thickness of the mattress.
Memory Foam Mattresses
With Memory foam, you get a mattress that embraces the body as you lay on it and provide an even distribution of weight. This ultimately removes the risk of causing adverse pressure on the body. When memory foam is placed on adjustable beds, it curves effortlessly to equal the base’s shape and maintain overall comfort.
Latex Mattresses
Similar to memory foam, the latex mattress is also foam and provides the same level of comfort. But the one difference that exists is it feels very light. The latex mattress is also firmer, so using a size adaptable to the base will be perfect.
Hybrid or Pocket Coil Mattresses
A hybrid or Pocket Coil mattress is a perfect choice for an adjustable bed due to its flexible coils and versatile foam. The good thing is that you will not experience any damage to the coils or foam while the bed is in an adjusted position. Pocket Coils allow you to get good support that will always be comfortable in any position that you adjust to.
This mattress is considered a hybrid because of the coil and foam material it incorporates. Since these materials work great separately, it only made sense to combine them to add even more comfort while the bed is adjusted.

Air Mattress
An air mattress is a mattress that has chambers that fill with air. To adjust them, the amount of air needs to be either increased or decreased. Nevertheless, there are only a few air mattresses that you should use on your adjustable bed.
An air mattress having more than one chamber is not an issue. You only need to remember that the air in the mattress can be obstructed while in an adjusted position.

Considering Mattress Thickness
While considering mattress thickness, you must ensure it is not overly firm.
The type of mattress you use should be determined by the thickness, which should be no more than 14 inches. If your mattress material is firm, then it also needs to be thin but still has a thickness that is able to supply you with plenty of sleep.
For foam, the thickness most commonly used is between 10 inches and 12 inches. However, memory foam is considered the better option out of the two. Latex is then considered appropriate if all others are not available.
