Micro-coils are small coils used in the comfort layers, above the main support. They add bounce and airflow close to the surface and respond to small movements, giving a lighter, more lifted feel than foam alone.
Foam core mattresses have no springs. The support comes from a core of high-density foam, with comfort layers of memory foam, gel foam or responsive foam on top.
