Shop medium models from Sealy, Serta, Beautyrest, Stearns & Foster, iComfort and Tempur-Pedic across memory foam, hybrid, euro-top, pillow-top and tight-top builds — with free delivery across Canada. • Feel: medium sits between plush and firm — balanced and the most versatile of our four comfort levels • Also called "medium-firm" — the middle of the firmness scale • Best for: back sleepers, combination sleepers, couples, and most body types • Consider plush if you sleep on your side; firm if you sleep on your stomach or want more support • Constructions: euro-top, tight-top, pillow-top, memory foam and hybrid • Brands: Sealy, Serta, Beautyrest, Stearns & Foster, iComfort, Tempur-Pedic, Springwall & NM • Prices: from $171 to premium
Springwall is a proudly Canadian-made brand known for chiropractic-minded support and durable, value-driven construction. Compare every option below by feel, size, and price.

Most modern mattresses are one-sided: a fixed top you can rotate but never flip. A flippable mattress is different - both faces are finished sleeping surfaces around a central support core, so regular flipping shares the wear between two sides instead of concentrating it in one.

Every model in this collection is a true two-sided build from a Canadian manufacturer: double-tempered bonnell coil support in the NM Orthopedic line, flippable high-density foam in the NM HD+ series with manufacturer warranty information available, two-sided pillow-top and tight-top pocket coil builds in the NM Hospitality series, Springwall's HealthCare Flippable euro tops and tight-top on 884 full-perimeter pocket coils, and a 4-inch flippable Bunkie for bunk beds. Firmness runs plush to extra-firm. Review our sleep trial terms, delivery information, and price match policy, or visit a showroom to compare the feel.

What Is a Flippable Mattress?

A flippable mattress - also called a two-sided or double-sided mattress - is built with a finished comfort layer on both faces, wrapped around a central support core. Either side can be slept on, so flipping the mattress a few times a year spreads compression across two surfaces instead of concentrating it in one. Until the early 2000s most mattresses were made this way; today the industry standard is one-sided, and genuinely flippable models are rare.

Are There Still Mattresses You Can Flip?

Yes. Every mattress on this page is a true two-sided build. The current Canadian-made lineup covers ten flippable models from two manufacturers:

  • NM Orthopedic - firm tight-top classics on a double-tempered bonnell coil system, in an 8-inch Classic and a 13-inch Supreme.
  • NM HD+ - flippable high-density foam, including a 10-inch extra-firm Core Advanced with manufacturer warranty information available and a 10-inch firm euro top.
  • NM Hospitality - two-sided pillow-top and tight-top builds on a Hi-Loft pocket coil system, designed for hospitality use.
  • Springwall HealthCare Flippable - an 11-inch firm tight-top, a 12-inch medium euro top, and a 13-inch plush euro top, each on 884 full-perimeter pocket coils.
  • Springwall Bunkie - a 4-inch flippable foam mattress for bunk beds, trundles, and daybeds.

Firmness runs from plush through medium and firm to extra-firm, with profiles from 4 to 13 inches and manufacturer warranty information available.

Do Flippable Mattresses Last Longer?

Two sleeping surfaces means each face carries roughly half the nightly compression, so body impressions and softening develop more slowly than on a one-sided bed that absorbs every night on the same layers. Two-sided construction also tends to be simpler and denser by design, because both faces have to be durable enough to sleep on. Flipping is maintenance, not magic - lifespan still depends on foam density, coil quality, and proper support under the mattress - but a flipped and rotated two-sided mattress typically stays comfortable longer than the same materials would one-sided.

How Often Should You Flip a Flippable Mattress?

Flip a two-sided mattress every 3 to 6 months - flipping at each season change is an easy habit to keep. Rotate it 180 degrees head-to-foot between flips so every corner takes a turn under the heaviest sleeper. In the first year, flip a little more often to break in both faces evenly. Two-sided mattresses carry comfort layers on both faces, so larger sizes are heavier than one-sided beds - plan on two people for a Queen or King.

Can You Flip a Pillow-Top or Memory Foam Mattress?

Only if it was built two-sided. A standard one-sided pillow top or memory foam mattress has its comfort layers on the top face only - flip it and you are sleeping on the support base, which feels wrong and can void the warranty. Those beds should be rotated, never flipped. If you want the pillow-top feel with a flippable lifespan, that is exactly what the NM Hospitality Both-Sided Pillow Top is: a finished pillow top on each face.

Who Flippable Mattresses Are Best For

  • Buyers focused on longevity who want simple maintenance that extends comfort life.
  • Guest rooms, rentals, and cottages - the NM Hospitality series is a two-sided build made for frequent-turnover sleeping.
  • Bunk beds and trundles - the 4-inch flippable Bunkie keeps low-profile setups safe and supportive.
  • Fans of the traditional firm coil feel - the double-tempered bonnell coil Orthopedic line is the classic two-sided orthopedic build.
