Real Life Happens.
Your Protection Plan Still Covers You.
Your manufacturer warranty covers manufacturing defects, and a stain or the wrong base can void it. Our 10-year Protection Plan cannot be voided by a stain, a rip, a tear, a burn or your base, and it covers the breakdowns a manufacturer's tape measure will not count.
Every mattress we sell comes with its manufacturer's warranty, and we handle those claims for you. But a manufacturer warranty is a promise about how the mattress was built. It is not a promise about the eight years you sleep on it.
That gap is real, and it is where most people get caught. A single spill can void a manufacturer warranty from that day forward. A bed frame the manufacturer does not approve of can do the same. And because manufacturers measure a dip with nobody lying on the bed, a mattress that sinks under you but springs back when you get up is not a defect as far as they are concerned. The Protection Plan exists so that none of those situations leaves you without coverage, and every claim is handled by our own team.
A Stain Never Voids It
Coffee, wine, a sick child, a pet accident. One stain is enough to end most manufacturer warranties permanently. It never ends your Protection Plan: if your mattress breaks down, we cover it, stain or no stain. The plan does not clean or replace a mattress for the stain itself, which is what a mattress protector is for.
Rips, Tears and Burns Never Void It
A rip, a tear, a puncture or a burn never voids your Protection Plan. If the mattress sags or breaks down later, we still cover it. The plan does not repair or replace a mattress for the rip, tear or burn itself.
What a Ruler Misses
Manufacturers measure a dip with nobody on the bed, and pay only once it passes a set depth: usually 1.5 inches, or 0.75 inches on Tempur-Pedic. A mattress can sink under you and spring back when you get up, and a broken spring does not show up as a depth at all. If your mattress has broken down, we cover it, even when the ruler says it is fine.
Your Foundation, Your Choice
Slats, a platform bed, an older box spring. Manufacturers can refuse a claim over the base you sleep on. Under the Protection Plan we will not void your coverage over your foundation.
Which One Covers You
Every mattress from National Mattress comes with three separate layers of coverage. They do different jobs, and knowing which is which saves you a lot of time when something goes wrong.

How the Protection Plan Works
There is no deductible, no registration to remember, and no third party administrator between you and us.
Add it when you buy
The Protection Plan is added to your mattress at the time of purchase. One plan covers one mattress. The price is shown before you add it, and nothing is added to your cart unless you choose it.
It stays with your mattress for 10 years
Coverage starts the day your mattress is delivered and runs for ten years. If you exchange your mattress during your 365-night sleep trial, the plan follows you to the new one. There is nothing to activate and nothing to renew.
Tell us when something happens
Submit a claim online with a few photos and a description of what happened. You do not need a receipt for the plan itself. If the problem can be measured, like a dip, we may ask you to measure it. If it cannot be measured, our team assesses it directly.
We repair or replace it
If your claim is approved we arrange a repair or a replacement mattress. Your claim is handled start to finish by the same National Mattress team that sold you the bed.
"Most protection plans are sold by one company and paid out by another, and you only find out which is which when you file a claim. Ours is not. You buy it from us, you claim it with us, and the same team answers the phone either way."

Protect the Rest of Your Bed
Your mattress is only part of your bed. Here is how we look after the rest of it.
Your Whole Bed, One Plan
The box spring, foundation or bed frame you buy with your mattress is covered by that mattress's Protection Plan for the same ten years, at no extra cost. Broken slats, a cracked rail and a failed centre support are all included, and a claim on the base underneath never uses up your mattress coverage.
Adjustable Base Protection
Adjustable bases have their own 10-year plan. The motors, control box, remote, wiring, lights and massage, and the frame and lift mechanism are all covered, with parts, labour and in-home service included from day one. Power surges and accidental damage to the remote and cords are covered too.
Our Support Promise
Buy your mattress and the base under it from us, and we guarantee the pairing meets your mattress maker's warranty rules. If the maker ever refuses a warranty claim because of the support we sold you, we will honour that claim ourselves. This one is free, with or without a Protection Plan.
Pillows and Protectors
There is no plan to buy for these. If a pillow or protector fails under its manufacturer warranty, bring it back to one of our stores and we will take care of the claim and the replacement for you. No forms and no shipping.
Adjustable Base Protection
Many adjustable base warranties sound longer than they are. The long number on the box usually covers the steel frame. Labour is often included only for the first year or two, and after about five years many warranties stop covering the motors and electronics altogether. The Adjustable Base Protection Plan closes that gap for ten years.
| Covered for 10 years | What we do |
|---|---|
| Motors, control box, wiring and power supply | Repair or replace, parts and labour included |
| The remote | Replace it if it fails or is accidentally damaged |
| Massage, lighting and USB ports | Repair or replace |
| Frame, welds and lift mechanism | Repair or replace |
| A power surge | Covered, including the parts it damages |
| A pet chewing the cords | Covered as accidental damage |
| The same fault three times | After the third repair of the same problem, we replace the base |
| A model that is no longer made | If parts are not available, we replace it with a comparable base |
Service happens in your home, with no service-call fee, no shipping and no labour charge. If your base will not lower or go flat, tell us and you will be first in line for a visit.
Not covered: a lost or stolen remote, cosmetic wear, commercial use, and damage from going over the weight limit in the manufacturer's instructions.
What Is Not Covered
We would rather be clear about this up front than have you find out at claim time.
| Not covered | Why |
|---|---|
| A stain, rip, tear or burn on its own | It never voids your coverage, but the plan does not clean, repair or replace a mattress for it. A mattress protector is the best defence against stains. |
| Fire, flood and water damage from the building | These belong to a home or tenant insurance policy, not a mattress plan. |
| Deliberate damage | Damage done on purpose is never covered. |
| Loss or theft | The plan covers the mattress you own, not its disappearance. |
| Comfort on its own | If the mattress simply does not suit you, that is what the 365-night sleep trial is for. It has to be used within 365 nights of delivery. |
| Normal softening | Every mattress softens as it breaks in, most in the first few months. A mattress that feels softer but still supports you is breaking in, not breaking down. |
| Commercial use | The plan covers mattresses in a home. |
| Mattresses bought before the plan was offered | Coverage can only be added at the time of purchase. |
